47 members and guests enjoyed a travelogue on Jordan by Margaret Chrysler, which showed a fascinating view of the country’s ancient culture, highlighted by Margaret’s excellent commentary.
The club reviewed the submissions for this month’s Competition Theme: “Back Lighting”, which featured many beautiful and creative shots. The top marks of the night went to Carson Plant, who achieved a combined score of 41 for his two entries.

Meeting October 13th / 2009
Our first meeting of the season saw a good showing of most of the membership. A Thank You goes out to Kathy Davidson and Frank Vadovic for presenting their very interesting slideshow which gave us a look at how people lived and are living in Cuba. Also thanks to Mrs. Vadovic for her help in producing it.
Meeting April 28 / 2009
During our second last meeting of the season, club members were shown which of our photos will grace the walls of the Outreach For Hunger office. Thanks to Doug Woodman for heading up this project.
Carson Plant entertained the group with his excellent Travelogue on Louisburg, Nova Scotia.
Paul lead us through a review of the comments from the St.Thomas Photographic Guild on our Fences exchange.
The CCC got a chance to show their creative skills in the Objects That Form a Letter or Number competition, in which we saw many entertaining submissions.
Meeting April 14 / 2009
Our third and final workshop of the season featured Les McCracken’s basic light and exposure lessons, Carson Plant’s tutorial on close up photography using a softbox, Dave Noordhoff’s Photoshop tips and tricks, Paul Schmoldt’s creative composing and editing demo, Herman Giethoorn’s close up lighting techniques and Craig Harkins’ fascinating look at photo restoration. A special thanks goes out to all of those who shared their knowledge with the club members. We look forward to more workshops next season.
‘Photo In Focus’ – March 26 / 2009

This time we are featuring the photographic talents of Martha Gillier. Martha is the Club’s current Social Co-ordinator and makes sure we have refreshments at our breaks. She is also heading the nominating committee for our next election in May. Her wide variety of excellent photos has put Martha in the lead of her division in our monthly competitions. Meeting March 24th / 2009
The club was treated to a presentation of Nature Photography In The Wilderness by Eleanor Kee Wellman, who has now inspired many of us to pursue her level of excellence.
Club members themselves showed some of their best work in the Open Competition, with Harry Arneill receiving the night’s top score.
Norma West was rewarded with a Honourary Life Membership due to her 51 consecutive years in the Chatham Camera Club during which she held various positions.
Meeting March 10/2009
Club members enjoyed another instructional night of Les’s Living Legends Lighting (Portraits), Carson’s Creative Close-Ups, Dave’s Delightful Demos in Photoshop, Tom’s Tremendous Tips, Paul’s Photo Printing and Editing in Elements plus Herman’s Helpful Highlights. These and other lessons will be held again on April 14th.
The ‘Outreach for Hunger’ project headed by Doug Woodman is now in its final print stage. Photos were donated by Chatham Camera Club with the generous help from the Trillium Foundation. Thanks to everybody who submitted images and congratulations to those whose pictures were selected.
