“Photo in Focus” – October 22th/2008
We are now featuring the talents of Patty Arsenault. Patty started her membership in the club last season and is always willing to lend a helping hand when needed and is in charge of publicity. She is comfortable with either Digital or Film format. Patty likes to take candid and action shots of kids as well as landscape scenes. Congratulations Patty. Tuesday Oct. 14th Meeting Highlights
Paul gave us another update on CK Web Portal. Les talked to us about print making with the new Large Format Printer Epson 3800 Pro, can’t wait to see the results.
CCC, CAPA Competition and Workshop
Viewed and Judged the Pictorial and Nature shots for CAPA and the CCC CK Architecture competition shots, there were some really great pictures, well done to everyone who participated.
Photoshop/Elements/FastStone Tutorial:
Text, Titles and Shadows – Paul & Tom.
Paul gave us a short tutorial on how to add borders, shadows and text to our prints using Faststone Image Viewer and Photoshop Elements 6, great info Paul now lets all give it a try and see if we remember what we were taught.
CCC New Meeting Facilities
Due to our greatly increased membership, our new meeting venue will from now on be at McNaughton Ave Elementary School Library. The facility is larger and is capable of being darkened for our projection requirements. We sincerely thank the nice people at Queen Elizabeth II School for having us the past years.
2008/9 Season First Meeting
Paul updated us on the status of the Chatham-Kent Web Portal, Trillium Grant and presented a very well put together presentation on Huntsville and Algonquin Park area. Beautiful Job Paul! We were also given excellent presentations by Richard Armstrong who showed us some of his outstanding work from over the years, and Les McCracken who gave us a very interesting and informative presentation on “Villa Angela”, Chatham-Kent’s new Mother’s House. Great Job to both of you, Well Done!
We also had a few new members join, all in all it was a very productive first meeting with a great turnout. See everyone next Month
Photo in Focus – August 25, 2008
‘Photo In Focus’ is now featuring the talents of Tom Townsend. Tom is an animal lover and has 3 dogs and 3 cats. He is the Club’s Past President and currently our Funds Manager. Aside from taking close ups and other varieties of photos, Tom has worked last year on securing additional support from the Trillium Foundation as well as increasing our membership. Picnic August 9th/2008 – A Great Time Had By All!!
We at the CCC would like to give a GREAT BIG THANKS to Keith McLean for the use of his beautiful property. I am sure we will all agree the photos we took will be beautiful. We would also like to thank Martha Gillier and Patty Arsenault for all the arrangements including food and cooking, etc. GREAT JOB GIRLS!!! It was a good turnout this year about 40 or so people, dispite a little bit of rain we all had a great day! Thanks to everyone involved.
