			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Chatham Camera Club is celebrating our 75th Anniversary.</p>
<p>In conjunction with this, there are currently several public exhibits at various venues in the City of Chatham.</p>
<p>The <strong>Chatham-Kent Museum</strong> has an exhibit on the History of  Photography running till February 2011, <a href="http://www.artspacechathamkent.com/" target="_blank"><strong>ARTspace</strong></a> downtown has 13 large prints and a running slideshow display till September 1st 2010, the <a href="http://www.chatham-kent.ca/ccc" target="_blank"><strong>Thames Art Gallery</strong></a> has 20 large prints as well as a running slideshow all showcasing the work of various members of the Club.</p>
<p>The Chatham Camera Club wishes to thank the various people involved in making this possible, in particular Thames Art Gallery Curator Carl Lavoy, Curatorial Assistant Mindy Bowls, Chatham-Kent Museum Curator Stephanie Saunders, ARTspace Assistant Gallery Administrator Sonya Blazek, Guest Curator and Artist Hank Bos and Joanne Kjeldsen, City of Chatham-Kent (IT Dept.).</p>
<p>Please celebrate this milestone with us by visiting the exhibits.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://chathamcameraclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/ribbon.png" alt="ribbon" title="ribbon" width="100" height="100" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-557" />On Tuesday, May 12th, 2009, the Chatham Camera Club held their Awards Night, where the winners of the Photo Competitions for 2008-2009 season were presented with Certificates honouring their achievements.</p>
<p>Bob Allen received the ‘Most Improved Photographer’ Award.<br />
Carson Plant received the ‘Best Photo’ Award. See Carson&#8217;s photo under <a href="http://chathamcameraclub.com/photos/">&#8216;Club Photos&#8217;</a>.</p>
<p>In the ‘Advanced’ Division, 1st place went to Les McCracken, Paul Schmoldt was 2nd, and Harry Arneill 3rd.</p>
<p>The recipients in the ‘Intermediate’ Division were Jim Pollock 1st place winner,  Doug Woodman 2nd, and Dave Noordhoff 3rd.<br />
As a result of their win, Jim, Doug and Dave will move up to the ‘Advanced’ Division.</p>
<p>In the ‘Beginner’ Division, 1st place went to Martha Gillier , 2nd to Vince Gagnier and 3rd to Bob Allen.<br />
Martha and Vince will move up to the ‘Intermediate’ Division as a result of their win.</p>
<p>Paul showed images from a visit at Hiram Walker&#8217;s Canadian Club Head Office in Windsor with &#8216;Windsor Photo Guild&#8217; and Les showed visits from &#8216;Open Doors&#8217; &#8211; COSY / CFCO , Caleb Retirement Home and &#8216;The Pines Chapel&#8217;.</p>

<p>Also thank you to our CAPA rep. Herman for his excellent tutorial on how to photograph outside <strong>Christmas Lights</strong>. Just in time for the season.</p>

Viewed and Judged the Pictorial and Nature shots for CAPA and the CCC CK Architecture competition shots, there were some really great pictures, well done to everyone who participated.<br />
<strong>Photoshop/Elements/FastStone Tutorial:</strong><br />
Text, Titles and Shadows &#8211; Paul &amp; Tom.<br />
Paul gave us a short tutorial on how to add borders, shadows and text to our prints using Faststone Image Viewer and Photoshop Elements 6, great info Paul now lets all give it a try and see if we remember what we were taught.</p>
